இந்த வாரம் விகடனில் வெளிவந்த மதன் கார்க்கி அவர்களின் தமிழ் எழுத்துச் சீரமைப்புப் பற்றி பலதரப்பு விமர்சனங்கள் பல முனைகளில் இருந்து வந்து கொண்டிருக்கின்றன. கருத்துச் சுதந்திரம் சர்ச்சையை ஏற்படுத்தியவருக்கும் சர்ச்சையை அறிந்து கொண்டவர்க்கும் உண்டு. இதனால் நல்லது விளைந்தால் நன்மையே.
தமிழ் மொழியைப் பொறுத்தமட்டில் எவ்வளவு தான் சொன்னாலும், செய்தாலும் அதை முறையாக அமுல் படுத்த ஒரு பலம் மிக்க அரச எந்திரம் தேவை. அப்படியான எண்ணத்தில் அரச எந்திரமோ அல்லது ஓர் அமைப்போ இல்லாதவிடத்து அமுலாக்கம், கட்டுப்பாடு இல்லாது காட்டாற்று வெள்ளம் போல் தமிழ் மொழி ஓடிக்கொண்டேயிருக்கும்.
ஒரு உதாரணத்திற்கு, ஆங்கில எவ் (F) ஐக் குறிக்க "ஃ" ஐப் பயன்படுத்தினார் ஒரு பத்திரிகையாளர். யார் அதை அனுமதித்தது அல்லது யார் அதை தடுத்து நிறுத்த முன் வந்தார்?
அது தன்பாட்டுக்கு "ஃ" இன் பொருளைச் சிதைக்கவில்லையா?
மதன் கார்க்கிக்குக் கண்டனம் தெரிவிப்பவர்கள் இதை மறந்ததேனோ?

பல வருடங்களாக என் சிந்தையில் இருந்த நெருடலுக்கு ஒரு கட்டுரை வடிவம் கொடுப்போமென்று எண்ணி 2014 இன் ஆரம்ப காலத்தில் ஒரு கட்டுரையை எழுதி அதை உலகத் தமிழ் இணைய மாநாடு 2014 இல் சமர்பிக்க எண்ணி அனுப்பினேன். அதை அவர்கள் ஏற்றுக் கொண்டு இருந்தார்கள். தவிர்க்க முடியாத காரணத்தால் அந்தக் கட்டுரையை என்னால் சமர்ப்பிக்க முடியாமல் போனது. அந்தக் கட்டுரையும் மதன் கார்க்கியின் யோசனையை ஒத்தது தான். அதனால் அதை இங்கே பிரசுரிக்க எண்ணுகிறேன்.

title "தமிழ் அரிச்சுவடி 2014 - மீளாய்வு"
has been accepted for oral presentation (duration 15+ 5 min) in one of
the technical sessions of the forthcoming Tamil Internet 2014 conference.
Acceptance of paper by CPC is under the assumption that at least
one author of the paper attend the conference to present the paper
in person. No proxy or remote presentation is permitted. Hence
we would appreciate much if you can reconfirm your participation
(indicate the author who will present the paper if the author for corresp.
himself/herself cannot present the paper) before end of month
(31 July). For papers for which we do not get reconfimation by email
the slot will be allocated to other abstracts that are in the waiting list.
Full length version of your paper has to be submitted within TEN
DAYS of the acceptance of your paper (in Tamil Unicode, as a
formatted Word .doc/.docx file) to the address <cpc2014@infitt.org>
(4-6 pages A4, one inch margin on all sides, Tamil unicode font).
Full length version of the papers will be reviewed by CPC members
and in some cases a revision as per the advice of CPC may be mandatory.
Full length version of the papers will be included in the Conference
Proceedings, to be published both as Hardcopy and in soft versions.

and you are strongly encouraged to register as soon as possible.
